Why the answer varies
The likely winner depends on the cards a person carries, the merchant category, active bonus categories and offers, reward values, earnings caps, known fees, and issuer terms. Card acceptance can also remove an otherwise higher-earning option. A public guide is a general comparison until a user provides their own wallet.
Pikt personalizes each estimate to the cards you already carry, the purchase details, and any reward values you set. It compares supported earn rates, eligible offers, caps, and card constraints, then explains the result. Use Card Check for a recommendation based on the cards you carry.
Why the usual card can earn less
Most people use the same card at checkout, usually the one on top in their wallet. Another card you already carry can earn more on the same purchase. Extra shown is estimated. Your issuer decides final rewards.
How Pikt compares your cards
Enter the store and amount. Pikt estimates which card in your wallet is likely to earn the most, with the dollar difference and a short reason. Issuers decide. Online, Pikt Checkout names that pick before you click pay. On recurring bills, Subscriptions shows which card is likely to earn the most and how to put it on file. Direct DoorDash orders have their own rate
The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard earns 4% cash back on qualifying orders placed directly through DoorDash or Caviar. A DashPass subscription fee does not earn that 4% rate. The card earns 3% on dining purchased directly from a restaurant, 2% at grocery stores, and 1% on other purchases.
American Express Gold earns 4x Membership Rewards points at restaurants worldwide, including eligible delivery services. Sapphire Preferred earns 3x Ultimate Rewards points on dining, including takeout and eligible delivery services. Merchant coding still controls whether an order qualifies.
Separate rewards from DashPass
A card's earn rate and its DashPass benefit answer different questions. The earn rate applies to an eligible charge. DashPass can change delivery fees or service fees on an eligible order under DoorDash's terms.
Sapphire Preferred currently offers at least 12 months of complimentary DashPass when activated by December 31, 2027. Chase also lists one $10 discount each month on a qualifying non-restaurant DoorDash order while the eligible DashPass membership remains active. These are dated partner terms, not permanent rewards rates.
The DoorDash Rewards Mastercard includes its own DashPass terms. Its first complimentary year can auto-renew at the then-current annual rate. Read the renewal terms before counting the membership as a benefit.
When Card Check matters for delivery
1. Check whether the charge is a restaurant order, a grocery order, or the DashPass subscription.
2. Apply any eligible monthly benefit you have not used. Then compare the normal earn rates.
3. Card Check converts cash back and points to estimated dollars using the values in your wallet.
A restaurant order and a DashPass fee can name different cards. You still pay with your own card. Extra is estimated; issuers decide.
